$200,$200,000 for estate of 63 year old woman. She was a resident of a Wheaton nursing home. She was admitted with diagnoses of developmental delay and mental illness. In addition, she had hypertension, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and diabetes. She had had a heart attack previously. She died as a result of choking on food. We argued that the nursing home failed to properly monitor her reaction to drugs she was taking that made her more susceptible to choking and caused an inability to swallow.
